Introduction
While this series has been more of a MONTHLY song rec series, I promise that is not my intention and I will try my hardest to keep pushing out content for ANYBODY AND EVERYBODY!!! So please message me on Instagram @ac.chilling.official for any music review requests and make sure to help this blog grow into something LEGENDARY.
Without further ado, this time around I have 4 K-Pop songs (one I have already reviewed here, where I will instead cover the music video) and one song that you have probably heard on TikTok lately but I still wanna share it since I genuinely love it (sometimes you just gotta express yourself).
5. Double Life – Pharrell Williams
Ahh yes, this is a song I wish I talked about last time, but just did not get around to it. This song is sinister, tricky, and just purely catchy and the prime example of why Pharrell is my current favorite non K-Pop or rap artist (although he’s the reason for many rappers’ success just sayin’).
Some may theorize it’s a Drake diss, sneakily calling out Drake for his antics and potential “double life” pun intended. But for me it’s just one of the catchiest songs for one of my favorite movie series as well.
While Despicable Me 4 could have been a bit better in my opinion, that’s a story for another day, this song carried my excitement when I watched it recently. My only critique being how the song just kind of dies out at the end but maybe that’s to symbolize how it’s supposed to be mysterious (Who will Gru be tonight, that’s the question).

Number 4. Please Summer! – KWON EUNBI
This track is definitely one of the most underrated summer tracks I have heard this season. It’s crazy nobody is talking about this one! Eunbi’s voice is so charming, and the way the song paces itself makes it feel like a story or a main track in a musical. Not to mention the nice instrumentals, especially the electric guitars after the chorus.
I wonder if Eunbi could have utilized her vocal range more though.
I am learning current more about IZ*ONE and their former members (just a product of being an IVE stan) and it’s things like these that make me wish that I was a K-Pop listener back in the day.

Number 3. SLASH – Stray Kids
Early last year when I was still figuring out what I liked in K-Pop, Stray Kids was definitely up there as one of my favorite groups.
This song encapsulates their identity as a boy group that constantly aims to dominate with their distinct sound. The fast-pace, the sound effects throughout the song, even some of the lines are very creative. The way they transition vocals from one member to another is on point as well.
However, in my opinion, the song doesn’t feel that unique compared to their previous releases. I still prefer older songs.
Side note: this is written before I review their latest comeback ATE, or anything after S-Class so this will most likely change later on.

Number 2. Sticky – Kiss Of Life
Another song that I wish reviewed last month, but here we are now!
I’ll be honest, I’m not really the biggest fan of this song, but that doesn’t mean I dislike it at all. While I did enjoy Midas Touch which I reviewed here, I feel like this one doesn’t hit me as hard. Regardless, I shall still recommend and review it for you guys so we can discuss it!
I enjoy the idea of a relaxing summer song that can also get you energized with mesmerizing vocals, and I do find the verses pretty nice. The chorus, however, comes very suddenly and the higher voices in and around it feel a little too forced. This is especially true in a song with an instrumental that might be too relaxing when paired with those kind of voices.

Number 1. Crush – IVE (Music Video)
The music video for this absolute masterpiece of a song is finally here, and I absolutely love it. Even if you’re not a fan of IVE or this song in particular, the visuals in this MV are out of this world.
It goes from a beautiful white summer of fun where all the girls express their obsessions, then to a Barbie-type aesthetic which perfectly fits all six of them.
Rei especially plays such an amazing role here, writing to DIVE (us) about how she loves and crushes on us and Gaeul’s visuals are in my opinion absolutely golden here too. Oh and Leeseo baking? Yujin driving? Liz playing with flowers? And Wonyoung doing anything?
“Perfect. Perfect. Down to the last minute detail.”/10 Below are seven of my favorite screenshots, hopefully you can save them if you like them too!
